When I try to start my car I need to turn the key back and forth a few times before it will start. It seems to only happen when the car has sat for several hours first.

You mean on off on off?
Will it not crank unless you do this or just not fire up?

You do not have to turn it all the way off.
But this is the crank.

You do not have to turn the key to the off to get it to start. When you turn the key to the start position
you get a ticking sound if you release it and turn it to the start position about 2-3 times then it will finly trun over and start.
Thanks for your help
Pat.
