I replaced two resister blocks over a period of a couple of months because the problem would reappear.
Finally I changed the blower motor assembly which permanently fixed the problem. Believe me, with 100K miles, they run a lot, get old and begin drawing excessive amperage which takes out the resistor block.
Do yourself a favor and save the frustration - change the blower motor at the same time. Your already there when changing the resistor block and the whole job should take even a novice under 2 hours.
