My truck will not start. I believe that my problem is coming from the distributor. I have found top dead center on cylinder 1 and I have wired the plugs accordingly. Before I started messing with the distributor about a month ago, the truck was running. Poorly, but it was still firing. I found a wiring diagram online and wired it as the diagram told me. The truck would not start and hasnt ran since. I am in a rut. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have purchased a haynes manual but it hasnt helped much. What it tells me point #1 on the distributor cap is contradicts what TDC tells me.

You should replace coil wires in accordance with the most informing place. Try to plug in your coil wires with the way the Haynes Manual tells you to, then attempt to turn over again.
