Hello, I have an issue with what I believe is the mode actuator door on my AC/Heat assembly. My problem is that all air for the systems comes out of the front dash vents. I have partially dis-assembled the dash and have been able to confirm that the cotrol switch appears to be working (since when I change the desired vent, the actuator motor does turn / spin), but the air only blows out the front dash vents. Regardless of what vent is selected (floor or defrost).
My question is "do you think that my diagnosis is correct, and if so. How much more of the dash do I have to remove to get to the AC/heat fan assemply to gain access to the malfunctioning part (mode actuator door).

Actually, I think you need to be looking for a vacuum leak. The doors are actuated by vacuum. Before you go to more trouble, check to see if you can find any broken, disconnected, or damaged hoses. You may be getting vacuum to the switch but loosing it somewhere along the line after that.

Can you tell me where these vacuum lines /hoses would be located? I have not seen any behind the dash.
