There is little to no heat coming out the vents not even enough to keep the windshield clear while snowing. I have tried reversing the hoses on the core and also flushing water through the core with a hose. The core does not seem to be the problem. The system is topped off with coolant, all the controls work fine and I am running out of ideas. Please give me a few. Thank you.

Are your in/out hoses form the heater core hot? And, are you sure the blend door in the heater box is moving from heat to cool and back?
