The car does not start reliably. I may have to turn the key 2, 5, 9 times before it starts. Occasionally it starts right up. I have replaced the battery, and 3 shops have told me there is nothing wrong with the starter or accelerator. I'm at a loss

Hi, you have to do some testing when the problem occurs. Are you saying it cranks good, but won't start, when the problem occurs, or it won't even crank?

If it cranks good but won't start, you or somebody needs to check for spark at the plugs, engine cranking. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage.
