Is there any chance that the oil change place might have failed to put something on/put something back together correctly to cause my water pump to go the day after? I went in for a routine oil change and then today my water pump failed. The oil change place said it was a bearing and that they had nothing to do with it. My truck was perfectly fine before I went in.

Hi there,

there would be nothing done during a service to damage a water pump, i do believe that this is just a coincidence, with the pump removed you may see evidence of the bearing being worn for some time, this is not uncommon to see.
