It shouldn't take longer than an hour for a shop to replace the muffler. It is something you could do at home too. It isn't too hard.
As far as price, the OEM muffler is a one piece unit all the way to the tail pipe. If you purchase that, it will be well over 150.00. You can get just an aftermarket muffler for around 50.00. What needs to be done is measure the length of the new aftermarket muffler, cut the old one out leaving about 3 or 4 inches for the new one to slide over the old pipes. Fit it into place and using muffler clamps, tighten it into place.
It really isn't that hard to do. If you choose to do it yourself, let me know if you need help. Also, I live in PA. A muffler for that vehicle is around 40.00. I added 10.00 because of the price difference between states. It should be close.
