Noises problem
2004 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my 2004 dodge dakota quad cab v6 has started making a oud whining noise whie moving, begining at 20 mph and increasing with speed. I checked the power steering fluid and transmission fluid and both are good. It does not make noise unless vehicle is rolling. Noticed that noise stops for a moment when going through a left curve or when going through a dip in the road. Could it be the rear end needing lube or drive shaft. I have no idea. Please help. Thank you

If the noise stops when you make a left turn, chances are you have a bad wheel bearing on the left side. When you turn left, the vehicle's weight is shifted to the right side. Thus, the left bearing doesn't have as much pressure on it and it quiets down.

Have the front left wheel bearing checked. My guess is that is the problem.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
