Computer problem
2000 Dodge Dakota V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

motor will turn over and not start checked fuses inside and under hood odometer will reed no bus, tested and got codes 920,921,999. Heard vibration in under hood fuse/relay box. Switched relays around no help. The relay vibrating the most was auto/shutoff I TOOK TOOTH PICK AND MADE THE CONTACT THAT THE RELAY PICKS IN THE RELAY ITSELF AND THE TRUCK STARTS AND RUNS NORMALLY. But I know I am bypassing something. Took all fuses out and checked, body grounds that I could find, connections on pcm, could not find ctm under dash, pushed and moved wires around under dash. Also when I put the truck back in Two wd I get a lot noise, scraping vibration in front wd. Pushed shifter f@b will moving with no help.

Thats the"auto-shutdown" relay. It may be bad and not able to handle the load pulled through it until you force it to with the toothpick.

You stated that you changed them around, not replaced any, Now remove the ASD relay and use a meter to test continuity to ground and exactly how much voltage is present at the other terminals. If the relay was buzzing it isnt getting enough of something to keep it engaged. The noise/scraping in the front end may be a hub that is partially engaged, is the noise coming from both wheels?

I switched relays and tryed a brand new relay, the hot side is 12 vdc from fuse and the ground looks like it comes from c3.3 on pcm. The sound seems to be coming from the right front but it does not have hubs.

The relay has more than 2 connections. Did you check continuity to ground? Even if it goes through PCM you need to check it. Soudns like front wheel bearing (hub)
