The dome light in my 96 Dakota stays on even when the doors are closed. What do I need to check to correct this? Also, If i remove the bulb from the dome light, will it still drain the battery?

Thanks

John:
Start by checking the switches at each door. If I had to guess, one has shorted. If the only thing that is causing the battery to drain is the light, if you remove it, the battery should be fine. Once you remove the light, the circuit is opened and there is no where for the power to go.

Let me know what you find with the switches or if you have other questions.
