The oxygen sensor is located at the end of the exhaust manifold on the upper side of the Y connector. There is very little room to fit a wrench or pliers to loosen the sensor. Is there a special tool for this or can it be done with standard tools? If so, what type of wrench should be used? Or do you need to remove the automatic transmission pan to gain access?

There is a special socket for oxygen sensors that has a slot cut in the side for the wires to exit. If there is no room to slide a socket on, I've always been able to get a box wrench on them.
