1994 Dodge Dakota 5.2L computer problem

The problem with my truck is that it will not idol when it warms up, also once warm will shut off everytime i stop. When driving my truck i will put it in neutral when i stop so it will not die, after doing this it does not want to shift when it needs to. what could be some the reason for either of thes things or are they related? thanks for you help.

Hi:
Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks, catylatic converter problems, fuel pump pressure.

the check emgine light has not come on, the fuel pressure is fine, and i just had catylatic converters put on less then a year ago. I have not found any vacuum leaks. thanks
