1991 Dodge Colt wont start

It lost power while driving home to a rough idle. I got it home, checked fuel pump and filters. It is getting fire because it acts like it wants to start but doesnt. It will sometimes start if I prime the carb but again it only idles rough and dies if I give it gas. What is next on the list? Thanks

Hi:
If it runs when you prime the engine, I would say the fuel pump is bad. Check it for pressure and volume.
