I have a 1996 dodge caravan with 200,000 miles v6 I was riding in it today and I kept mashing the gas and nothing happen but my rpms went up I stopped cut it off and restarted it and it went into gear like it should and I went on it did this twice had to repeat procedure and didnt do it anymore. Everything sounds great no knocking or other noises just like im in neutral or something but it corrects itself when you restart the vehicle. What is wrong?

Sounds like the tranny is slipping. These 3 speed trannys are not the greatest. Typically when you go in to fix the particular problem in there, it is a temporary solution as the rest of it is worn. If I owned one I would change the fluid and filter every 20,000 miles- take special fluid. If it turns out the tranny is the problem, replace it with a Jasper Transmission.
