2003 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

when I turn the key sounds like it wants to start but won't. A few weeks back as I was driving when I stepped on the gas pedal it wouldn't pick u speed & turned off on it's own, somehow it started back-up again just to make it home

Hi:

Does the engine turn over? If so, the first things you'll need to check for are fuel and spark. If you have never done this before, you may want to have a mechanic do it because checking fuel pressure requires a special tool.
