1996 Dodge Caravan rear hatch won't unlock

rear hatch stopped unlocking. don't have a key to the hatch. is there any way to rig to mechanically open from the inside?

I don't know of a way to manually set it up from the inside. If you remove the door panel, you may be able to identify the problem. Part of the linkage may be disconnected or broken. Also, that would give you the chance to check if the electric release is getting power. THen you could determine if it needs replaced or the switch is bad.
