Hey CHOPPER120,

It sounds like the battery could have shorted out. Do the headlight come on?

Here is a guide that will help you figure out what's wrong.

My 2000 Chevrolet Cavilier keeps stalling as I drive it. All I have to do is restart it and then it will go again untill it stalls once more. What is causing this and how can it be fixed?

Look for basics like a vacuum line off. Make sure there is nothing disconnected. The throttle plate may be dirty not allowing air into the motor as well.

Ran out of fuel yesterday, now it won't start. Put fuel in, checked fuel pump(you can hear it turn on), checked relay and fuse, no fuel going to injectors. If we put fuel in the injectors it starts but dies once it uses it. It also starts with starting fluid in the intake.

Although you hear the pump run, it may have been damaged. First, check to make sure the fuel filter didn't pick up dirt and plug. If it is good, see if there is pressure to the filter. If there is no pressure and you hear it run, remove the pump, make sure there are no blockages, and replace if it is clean.

Alright, so we get our heater fixed in our car and, on our way home, (on the same day it was fixed) it dies while driving down the road. Pulled over, turned off engine, restarted engine turned off heat, and drove the rest of the way home, just wonder what could possible be the problem. Oh and the car worked fine before the heat was fixed.

Hi
here is a thought. Unplug your air compressor plug and drive with the heat on. If car still dies write back if not bad a/c comp.

Another possibility is the iac motor is failing

My car has begun stalling while I'm driving. At first, I could keep it going if I keep pumping the gas; eventually it would run normally again. Yesterday it began stalling and I couldn't get it to run normally again. I kept pumping it for several miles. When I gave up and stopped the car, it smelled like something was burning. How do I find out what this problem is without a lot of trial and error expense? Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Lola Foote

Well the first thing we are going to want to do is a fuel pressure check and a spark/ignition check. I will give you some info on how to do that, Now if I were to make an educated guess, I would say, the fuel pressure regulator. Throttle position sensor, or there is something wrong with the flow of air into the system, but first we need to check those first two items.
