Hi,

It's unlikely. What to do is start a new thread related to how to check and repair the tilt. Also, it's interesting because the wiring runs through the column. I wonder if something has broken the wire.

Let me know.

Okay, thanks I will do that too. The reason I broke down was a fuel pump issue and once I got that resolved, I noticed still no start, because of no spark.

Hi, I tried to remove the ignition switch but it wont budge with the flat screw driver. I only saw a clip on one side only and I don't know what to do next. Here is a pic of the ignition switch:

Do you see a color match for the wire at the coil?

I don't understand, do you mean the same color wire for the positive on the ignition coil?

Yes. The wiring schematic I have shows power from the switch direct to the coil.

Let me know.

Hi,

Because of the model year, my schematics are very basic and limited. What to do is see if there is a black on on the ignition. Using a test light, see if there is power when the key is turned on and no power when the key is off.

Hi, I didn't have access to the ignition switch properly, because I couldn't remove the top cover to the steering column, because my steering wheel will no longer tilt down because of damage caused by the tow the truck. I will get back to you when I get this resolved.

Hi, i'm ready to start working on cranking and no spark. What's the next step for me to look for breaks on no power to ignition coil?

Have you checked the wire between the two (switch and coil) for continuity? Is there power at the switch?

Then there is a break in the wire. If you run power to the coil, will it run? If it does, the wire must have a break in it.

Let me know.

You can take 12v direct to the + on the coil (jumper wire from battery +). Just don't leave it on too long. Just use it to see if it starts. Make sure to disconnect it once you're finished.

Hi, I didn't have a jumper wire, so I made one from speaker wire and alligator clips. I ran the wire from the battery that's under the back seat to the positive side of coil and when I would move the wire around the positive post I would hear little clicking sounds and chatter. I even heard something click where the fuel injectors are located, but this would happen when the ignition was off only. When ignition key was on I heard nothing. Did try to start car but it still just cranked with no start.

Hi,

At this point, I recommend having the coil checked. If you ran power to it, the vehicle should have gotten spark and started. I am going to ask the site owner to look through this thread to see if he can add anything.

I attached a pic below and highlighted where the two retaining bolts are located. Most parts stores can check this for you. Just disconnect the battery before removal.

Take care and let me know what you find.
