My truck shut off one night while I was driving home. I thought it was possibly a bad fuel filter. Changed that, still nothing, changed fuel pump, still nothing. Sprayed starting fluid in trying to get it to start and nothing. It's cranking but won't turn over. Checked fuel pressure and have fuel pressure, checked relay and fuses but still nothing. Any suggestions on what steps I need to take or what other issues it may be? Been down for about a week and need to get back on the road as this is my means for making a living. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

If the starting fluid made no change, chances are you lost the ignition spark to the plugs. Have you checked? If not, let's start there.

Here is a link that explains how to do it:

If your truck has a tachometer, pay attention to see if it moves a little when cranking the engine. If there is no movement, I suspect the crankshaft position sensor has failed. Take a look through this link:

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
