I started having an issue with sluggish driveability and occasional hard starting. Figured it was a great time for little upkeep on my van.
Replaced:
Fuel pump
Fuel spider
Upper intake manifold
Distributor
Ignition coil
Spark plugs and wires

Today I went to button it all up and no starting. Cranking but not starting. Went down the line and thought maybe it's crankshaft sensor, which could have caused original starting issues.

Noticed quite a bit of oil caked on bottom of my engine but no oil spots on ground.

Removed crank sensor and 1-2 cups of oil poured out.

Crankshaft shaft seals must be toast. Besides crank seals, what else do I need to consider?

Hi:

The seal should eliminate the issue. However, it isn't running. Have you tried replacing the sensor? Also, do you have a live data scanner to see if you are getting an RPM signal from the crank sensor?

Since it now isn't starting, there are many things that can cause it. However, I would first start with the basics. Check to see if there is both spark to the plugs as well as proper fuel pressure. Here are a couple links to help do that:

Also, take a look through this link. It describe the most common causes of a crank no start condition.

Start with that and let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
