Ran car until almost out of gas. Friend took a small amount of gas (maybe a 1/4 of a gallon) from one car's gas tank and put it in a gas can that already had; I would say about two thirds, of a gallon of something in it and then put that into my car's gas tank. I say "something" rather than gas because as soon as I started up my car it was running really badly. For about four blocks on the way to gas station. Never made it there. Had to be towed back. It stalled out and has not started up since. Just cranks for the most part. Has acted like it was going to try to turn over but usually only the first few tries then it goes back to just cranking. The Schrader valve shoot "something" out when pressed but only about a two inch long spurt. And to me it appears to be cloudy. A friend checked it out yesterday and they intentionally let it squirt into their fingers to smell it. To us, it barely smelled of gasoline at all. I am wondering if someone had put water in the gas can I mentioned at the beginning of this "story". It was a borrowed can, that is why I am unsure of its actual contents. If it was water would that cause these issues I am having? I tried the whole leave ignition in on position for ten minutes then try restarting thing related to a "security malfunction" did not make a difference. I do not like to say it but, I am "just a girl"with a poorly paying part time job, very few tools and even less mechanical inclination. But I am not without an ability to learn so any genuine information will be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello, I am Danny.

It sounds like possibly there might have been "something" other than gasoline in the can contaminating your system. There is something I can recommend. It is a product called "Seafoam" gas treatment. I would put in five gallons of fresh gas with that product and run the so called "something" gas out of the system. I say this because I worked on a customers Saturn that had been sitting parked for five years with half a tank of gas. They tried for a whole weekend to get it to start with no luck. Ruined the battery too. After I charged battery added the Seafoam product (white can red lettering) it shook the car for a minute and it fired right up! I am also attaching a tutorial to test your fuel pressure as well. Most auto parts stores have a tool loaner program that will rent you a fuel pressure tester. Hook it to the Schrader valve and see what kind of pressure you have. It should be 50-60 PSI. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
