Truck will not start, but does crank over. New fuel pump, has 58 psi of fuel pressure. 12.3 ohms on injectors, has injector pulse. New plugs and wires and is firing. All fuses and relays checked. Grounds good. Spray with starting fluid and truck starts and runs until it burns up. I do not have a clue where to go next? Truly stumped!

Hello,

Just a quick thought, have you checked the quality of the fuel? I encountered an instance where a customer put E85 in the tank with a similar outcome.

Different guy (dealing mostly with carbureted vehicles).

I went to the engine performance diagrams in "Prodemand" to see if I saw something that might help. There were five diagrams just for engine performance.

As with most all modern vehicles the computer(s) itself is always a possibility.

Other than that, wires, grounds, relays, fuses, and components are about all that is left to go wrong. A "good fuse" may have corrosion on one of its legs, a "new" fuel pump may be bad right out of the box or installed incorrectly.

Beings that it does run on starter juice, you can eliminate a bunch of other possibilities!

Lets go basic!

"Prodemand" is showing two fuel tanks (this may be an option) Are you trying to run off of one with fuel in it? Have you tried switching tanks?

Even a more critical, but simple test! (Even though you did post a fuel pressure value) Double checking stuff might help out!

When your key gets turned to "on", the fuel pump should run/ hum for a second or two. Usually it can be heard in the cockpit. To be certain, remove the fuel cap and have your buddy listen near it when you turn the key to "on".

This might give a better idea of the fuel pump situation.

Your turn,

The Medic
