When going to put tension on VVT's they do not budge at all. The bolts are loose on both, just finger tight. Should they not move? To put load on chains? Is it possible to have a bad actuator? Even though the timing marks look right, I noticed the torque bolt do not line up Watson in my picture.

Actuators go out all the time. It sounds like one is not working right if it will not return to base timing.

Intake mark on diagram shows mark on other side of the face plate. How much spring movement is there from base timing?

Or it seems they are in the fully advanced lock position, would it be alright to go ahead and assemble?

To make sure they are returned to the base position pull them in the opposite way the engine turns, if everything lines up go ahead and reassemble. Let us know what happens. :)

No, if the cam tools are in place and the marks line up with the actuators retracted you should be okay.

I know I seem to be hanging on this, and I am sorry for that, but these actuators do not move any direction with the tool forward or backwards.

I only have one more question.
When rotating to setup timing when both tools are on both cams, the square etching on the rear of the cams are down on all four cams at the same time correct? And number one is DTC correct? I never moved anything when chains were off. But just double checking myself.

Yep, it sounds like you have it all right but to be sure before you put the front back on turn the engine over by hand two revolutions and line up the marks again to triple check if all looks good put the engine back together. Exciting times!

Unfortunately, the marks on the chain do not line up with the cam marks after revolutions. I just do not understand I have done a lot of chains, just cannot identify the problem.

Do the chains have tension on them? They should line up revolution after revolution. This is strange. Is it the correct timing chain did you match them up?

Yes, correct timing chain, chain is tight. No slippage. I notice on second revolution (back to number one TDC) that the chain mark on r bank intake and Lbank
Exhaust chain mark was on. Opposite banks

It looks to me that chain would need to have more than two revolutions because the crank sprocket so small and chain is really long.

Yes, sounds right if it comes back to on the marks after the second revolution.
