I have the code P0720, P0730 and when I push the gas at around 20 MPH it seems like it misses the next gear. The RPMs will just rev up, but the car doesn’t speed up. After a while of driving the car, it seems like it just goes into neutral no more power to the engine. I have to turn off the car for a few minutes and restart it then I can continue driving. Also, I just replaced the output sense, and the only difference now is it will get to 25-30 before it starts doing the problem again. I need some help please.

These codes will come up when the input shaft speed sensor (countershaft) goes out, if the speedometer is working then the output sensor is working just fine.

Code P0720: Output Speed Sensor Circuit

Code P0730: Incorrect Gear Ratio

Here is the sensor location so you can swap it out, also check the fluid level and smell if it is burnt or not? Clear the codes once the repair is completed. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Yes, this is the sensor I swapped out. From the diagrams you sent me. After I drove it the let me pass the 20-25 MPH but then it slips at 30-30 MPH now. Where would the other sense be located so I can try and swapping that one?

If the speedometer is working the output sensor may not help. Can I ask about the transmission fluid condition, is it burnt? You said you already replaced the output shaft sensor? Anyway, here is the location, I would try changing out the fluid as well. It may be giving these codes because the transmission is burnt up and needs replacement. FYI. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
