Hi, I have had a few problems with the clutch pedal sinking whilst driving. It used to sink to the floor completely and I had to kick it back up manually to be able to use it. So, I’ve had a new master and slave cylinder, a new clutch and flywheel (about 3,000 miles ago) and also had it bled three times. It was fine for a little while however I have noticed now it still sinks sometimes, about two inches lower than it usually sits and sometimes feels a lot lighter to press. Engaging and disengaging the clutch seems to be fine, and I can get it in and out of gear no problem. The car drives fine, but when I go to press the pedal it’s a lot lower occasionally and also affects the biting point. Any advice?

Hi,

Is the fluid full in the clutch master cylinder reservoir? If it is low, inspect for leaks at the MC and under the dash where the clutch pedal shaft goes through the firewall. Also, check to see if there is a leak (or evidence of a leak) at the transmission where the slave is located.

Please note, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I don't have the pics to show locations. However, let me know if you have questions and what you find. I'll try my best to help.

Keep in mind, the hydraulic system is sealed, so if it is full, the MC or slave may be starting to fail again.
