How high up does the pedal lift before drive is taken up? Is there any noise when you press in the clutch? Can you feel any vibration in the clutch pedal when it is pressed? Idling in gear how easy is it to select all gears? Will reverse select straight from neutral without clashing? With the engine running handbrake on, select first gear and try to drive off slowly, (this is a stall test for the clutch) does it stall straight away or is there some slip? Answers to these questions will give me a good idea as to the clutch condition and is the 200,000 miles accurate for the speedometer? If so and it is the original clutch? We could be looking at a clutch problem.
