On a slightly heavy braking action I get a light grinding noise from the right rear disk brake. Sounds like the lining is going away but I have checked both pads and they have plenty of life left from what I can see without any dissassembly. Both surfaces of the rotor look good with no pitting or grooving. What could be the problem?

Have you recently changed your rear pads with aftermarket pads? Aftermarket pads are metalic lining and chrysler recomends semi metalic pads. If pads not replaced pull pads and check for something got caught in pads or on rotor. Reply back with answer good luck.
