I have a 1995 chrysler lhs that is stuck in limp in mode. I replaced the map coolant and some other sensor the comp told me was bad but now it says the egr is bad. Might this be the comp leading me in circles? I really have no idea now so I could really use some help

Hi mac1082. Welcome to the forum. What is a "comp"? The map and coolant temperature sensors will not cause the transmission to go to limp-in mode. Once it goes to limp-in, there will be a diagnostic fault code memorized in the Transmission computer, (electronic automatic transmission controller - EATX). If you can find someone with a hand-held computer, called a scanner, that can access that computer, the code(s) will tell you the reason for the default. Most code readers at the auto parts stores will only read codes in the Engine Computer.

As a general rule, if the transmission computer goes to second gear, (limp-in) during an upshift to a higher gear, the cause is slippage in one of the clutch packs. If it starts out in second gear as soon as you put it in drive, it is most often a sensor problem.
