first of all, i drive a 1987 lebaron gts 2.5 ltr 4 cyl. with approx 72000 miles

i went to start my car one morning, with no prior issues. it turned over fine, fired for one second then died, then would turn over but not fire..so two days later i went through looking for a problem and decided to try replacing the pick-up coil.

that solved the problem. the car started great and ran just like it did before the problem. i started it 3x then and went fine everytime, the next day i went to work in it, went to lunch and drove all the way home. all fine. that evening, went to start it, wouldnt fire again... checked all the pickup coil connections, everything looks fine

any advice?

Could be the coil or ignition control module
