The glass on the drivers side mirror has been broken. Everything is intact. I have a replacement unit but do not know how to remove the old mount without doing any further damage. Diagrams would be helpful.

If you have just the glass, you'll have to break out the pieces, then glue the new one in. If you have the glass in the plastic frame, you should see the holes that snap onto the pivots. If it doesn't pop off easily, take it to the glass shop that sold you the new mirror. The motors are just plastic in a plastic housing. Pulling too hard could break the mounts.

If you do get the whole plastic frame off successfully, use a small block of a 2x4 to push the new one on. That will prevent putting too much pressure in one spot and breaking the new one.
