My car locks when the button is pushed down and unlocks when pushed down as I assume is the general case.

Well, a little while ago, I had a passenger who was in a hurry attempt to unlock a locked door by pushing the car lock down instead of up. She proceeded to push the car lock down so much that it broke and went through and now there is a hole and the door can not lock or unlock and is permanently locked at the moment.

While this isn't the biggest deal in the world as 3 of the 4 doors are still not working, it is an inconvenience and will most certainly hurt the resale value of the car.

Does anyone have any experience with this problem and any type of estimation to what the cost might be. Basically the lock is pushed through. Is there anyway I'll be able to open that door again without spending a fortune and will the door being broken have any other adverse effects on any other aspect of the car.

Thank you so much! -Noah.

If the switch was accidentally pushed down and got locked into that position, the switch is broken and need be replaced with another switch.

Go to a wrecking yard, and get yourself another switch panel. Manually open the door, remove the door panel and exchange the switch panel. That should do the trick.
