Re wiring alternator

86 chevy 3500 7.4L was on fire we installed new wiring harness and now when engine running the alternator is back charging the ignition so the truck wont shut off. Any suggestions or diagrams

Start truck and turn key off pull fuses untill engine quite that fuse should be wired with the key operation
on off
i dont think its the alternator wiring u need to check the ignition switch wiring one of them is staying live at all time or throw the alternator
do u have a remote start
