Fuel pump

I have a 2001 Chev 1500 with the 4.8L engine, it has about 220kms on it and recently I have been going through fuel pumps like Tic Tacs. I have replaced the pumps with OEM's and still it craps out on me too often. I don't seem to have any other issues with the truck, but this fuel pump replacement program is getting to be expensive, so I'm wondering if there might be something else causing the pumps to fail. I've run the code scan on the truck and other than the fuel pump it shows everything is okay.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the fuel pressure regulator and inspect for clogged retrun line-could also be a problem with voltage drop to the pump.
