2005 Chevy Aveo Stalls When Slowing

I have a 2005 Chevy Aveo, has only 10,000 miles on it and yesterday it stalled twice. I'd only driven 3 miles from home. The first time it stalled when I made a left turn and then slowed to turn right into a parking lot it started sounding like it wasn't getting any gas, but I have 3/4 of a tank, I eventually got it started again, but it took several minutes. I was in the store about 40 minutes and it started fine when I came out, but when I got about 2 miles and slowed to pull into a left turn lane it stalled again. A man who had stopped behind me suggested taking the key out and putting it in again and seeing if that helped, since I have one of those security keys that cuts the fuel off if you don't push the button, it still wouldn't start, but after another minute it did start again and I made it home. He also said it sounded like it wasn't getting any fuel. It's a standard tranny if that makes any difference. It wouldn't start in gear or in neutral. I want to take it to the dealer but I'd like to have an idea as to what the problem may be. I've read several posts here that refer to the IAC and the EGR. I know almost nothing about cars, but from what I was reading, does it sound like either of those could be the problem. I'm taking it for granted that my car has those. Thanks for your help.

the iac will cause it to die at idle or when letting off the gas. but if its is under warranty let the dealer take car of it.

Just have to be able to get it to the dealer, right now we're having T-Storms and I don't want to venture out in a car that might not make it and be stuck in a downpour with all that lightning.

Suggested Repair

The idle air control (IAC) can cause stalling at idle or when letting off the gas, which fits the described symptoms. Because the low-mileage vehicle is likely under warranty, have the dealer diagnose and repair it.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a low-mileage 2005 Chevy Aveo reported stalling twice on short trips, especially when slowing or turning, with the engine sounding as if it was not getting fuel despite a mostly full tank. Restarts took several minutes, and the car would not start in gear or neutral. The owner asked whether the IAC or EGR could be involved. The expert said the IAC can cause the engine to die at idle or when letting off the gas and recommended letting the dealer handle it if the car is under warranty. The owner thanked the expert and said they needed to get the car to the dealer safely.
