My truck will not start after running for a while, as soon as I stop after a trip of about 20 miles, it will not start right away, it takes some time to cool and it will crank right on, when hot, it seems the engine is not getting power, and the starter wont crank it on, please help'

I assume when you say it won't crank it on, you mean the engine will crank (turn over) but it will not start.

This is called a crank no start.

This is normally due to the fuel pump is failing.

So, when it is hot, it will not supply the pressure needed to get the engine to start.

However, here is a guide that we need to use to get started:

Once we run through this info, we need to find out what we don't have when you are not getting the engine to start.

We need fuel, spark, compression and air. We can assume the compression and air are fine because the vehicle runs normally but we need to start with fuel.

Here is a guide that will help with checking the pressure, so we need to do this when the engine is acting up:

Let's start with this info and we can go from there.

Thanks
