1987 Chevy Truck V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 143000 miles

my chevy pickup wiyh a 4.3l astro engine sputters very bad when driving. The plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor are all new. What could be the problem?

Check the fuel pressure with the truck running, also check the ignition timing.

The EGR may be pluged opern with carbon causing rough running also. A bad PCV valve, could also cause rough running, take it out and shake it, if it rattles it is good, if not replace it. Also check the rubber elbo's and the plastic hose that goes from the PCV valve to the air intake hoses.
