Engine Mechanical problem
1978 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual

In my pickup I have a problem with the truck not starting without priming the carb, if it sits for two days. I have replaced the mechanical pump, and the filters. I have pulled the tanks, and replaced all fuel hoses. I have replaced the fuel line to the carb. I still have the same problem. The truck runs fine, and has no loss of power or fuel starvation. Could this be a fuel pupm pushrod problem? I am really stumped.
Thanks
Bob

A couple of thing could be wrong, you may have a bad accelerator pump and your fuel bowl plugs maybe leaking, so when it sits for a couple of days the gas leaks into the intake manifold and evaporates away so there is no fuel in the fuel bowl when you need it and with the accelerator punp going bad or is bad when the carb fuel bowl fills up the accelerator pump will not squirt out the fuel needed to start the engine.

Rebuild your carb and plug the fuel bowl plugs, that was a problem with some Rochester carbs back in the day. I hope this helps
