How can you tell fan clutch is going out and how do you remove it?

Afan clutch is designed to operate fully after the temp under the hood exceeds a certain point. You will know it is working because it is very noisy. As far as removal, it unbolts from the waterpump. However, a special tool is needed to remove it. Most parts stores will lend or rent the tool to you.
