I have a 1999 2 door tahoe with 160000 miles on it. The problem started with a noisey fuel pump. Everytime the fuel pump would whine the volts would move up. Also my fuel gauge has flickering. I have replaced the fuel pump. Noise has stopped but the gauges are still flickering. I had the altanater checked it was good I replaced the belt still no change. Im stumped on what to do next.

When you say flickering do you mean the lighted part or the gauges move back and forth fast?

Yes the fuel gauge move back and forth real fast almost like a vibration and the volts moves back and fourth between 14 and 19 like a pulse.

I have seen the fuel gauges do that, replaced the gauge and all was alright. The volt gauge, check with a meter for steady system voltage at the alt and at any power points.
