All my steering tie rod end and other parts are good and tight. They show no signs of wear. But it is loose on the road. I know that the 4 wheel drives of the 70s you could adjust the steering gear bax and tighten it up. Is that possible on this truck as well?

Does your steering box actually have play? These trucks have a steering wheel speed sensor located onat the base of the steering column that detects how fast you are turning your wheel. When they go bad the steering gets wicked easy to turn. The purpose of this sensor is to make turning in parking lot manuevers easier and tighter steering while driving down the road. I have replaced a ton of these sensors for this symptom. Hope this helps.
