Electrical problem
1998 Chevy Tahoe V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I am trying to diagnose the problem that I recently started having. I was driving along and my vehicle just shut down. I had some to check it out and they said that I had blown the ECM-I fuse. It shut my vehicle down, it sounded like my vehicle was out of gas but had almost a full tank. We put the fuse in and it started right up. Now it does it regularly, shuts off, I put a new fuse in and it starts up. I have someone trying to find out everything that this fuse controls and what may cause this fuse to blow, I mean it blows in a matter of minutes. Has anyone else had this problem before?

Check the oil pressure unit and fuel pump wiring. The fuel pump ground sometimes corrodes and needs to be cleaned up. It attatches to the frame cross member just before the fuel tank. Disconnect it and clean it up - or re-crimp a terminal ring and reconnect to a clean surface.A corroded ground connection will cause an overload condition in ANY D/C circuit. Check all ground connections.
