I have a 2001 Yukon XL, 5.3 4x4, with the auto transfer case, 73000 miles. When 2 Hi is selected, the front driveshaft is still locked in gear even though the front axles are disengaged. You can shift into 4 Lo and 4 Hi and Auto 4 Wd, but the front driveshaft never stops turning in 2 Hi. Any suggestions? Thanks :(

I had to take the Yukon into the dealer to check a couple of other items and was informed that this particular transfer case never disengages the front driveshaft. Strange? I have checked a couple of other year GM models that do disengage the front driveshaft, but the tech guy assures me that mine is performing as designed.
