1999 Chevy Suburban tailights on both sides suddenly out

1999 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Returning home last night both of my tailights suddenly went out. I have checked the fuses and bulbs. There is no power getting to the tailights on either side, but there is to the turnlamps and reverse likes. I am a builder, lol not a mechanic obviously. I understand it is probably wiring underneath? Any suggestions where to start?
