For a couple days the vehicle was drove in 4hi because of snow. When I tried to put the vehicle back in 2hi it seemed to be stuck in 4low. When driving it down the road it kicks in and out of 2hi to 4low and won't go over 5 miles per hour. When I stopped at a stop light for 20 seconds the vehicle was still running and in drive the vehicle would not move when I applied gas, it would not go forward or reverse.I had to shut it off then turn it on and try then finally it went into drive but was still in 4low. For many months the fuses have been not working properly also. What could be the problem? I need help!

Are you getting power to the actuator on the transfer case when you push the buttons for 2wd? If you are, chances are the actuator is bad.

Let me know.

There would have to be power to the actuator because it kicks in and out of gear without touching the buttons. If we unhook power to the actuator after we get it into 2wd can we leave it and not have to get a new actuator? Making the vehicle only a 2wd vehicle?

I don't see why that wouldn't work. IF you remove the power, it should stay in 2wd.
