Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Chevy Suburban V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have no spark and no fuel the engine jumped timeing and I rebuilt engine but it has no fuel and no spark and I have checked just about everything that it could be. It had the no fuel no spark problem before I put in new timing chain set. Does anyone possibly know what it could be I have been at this for almost a month now?

Thank you so much

Ignition: Check to see if you have voltage to the ignition coil with a voltmeter. It should be 12V +/-.5 V. Have you tested the coil primary and secondary?

Fuel: Can you hear the fuel pump when the ignition is turned on? What is the fuel pressure?
Is it TBI or MFI?

When you turn the truck on you do hear the fuel pump run for about 5 seconds and the cuts out which is normal from what I read and yes I have also checked the coil also and it checks out fine. I just had the distributor control modul checked and tested out good also I have check all fuses also and all good but still no spark and the throttle body does not spray fuel and if I also pour fuel down throttle body does not fire over put used plug in to check for spark there is no spark.

What is the fuel pressure? You can test the throttle body injector solenoid with a 12 volt source; but you will need to remove it and test it on a work bench. Watch to see if the pintle opens. Check the connector to the throttle body injector for proper voltage when cranking the engine.

But my question is would that cause it not to have any spark or fuel. It has no spark and no fuel come out of the tbi. I am gunna disconnect the fuel lines and turn key on and see if I get any fuel up to the engine but if I do what would cause it not to have no spark or not allow the fuel to come out of the 2 injectors? I should tell you I am a ASE certified mechanic and have tried everything I know and have the capabilities to check things as I am doing this out of my garage and I will honestly say I am stumped.

Ok well whether you measured pressure in the fuel lines or visually checked there was fuel flow from the pump, the bottom line is whether the fuel is there or not.

If you are not recieving 12 Volts from the ignition control module you will not have any electricity in the ignition system.

I can only help you if you give me answers; you have to systematically elimate the most utterly unlikely and stupid sources first, lol as a mechanic you should know that. I would start with either the ignition system or the fuel system and elimate that instead of jumping around pulling your hair out at what is wrong. Just think logically.
