I have a 1987 Chevy 153000 miles 305 v8 has a 1979 motor recently timing gear and chain was replaced now you can drive it 3 or 4 miles shut it off will not start real slow to turn over when its cold it will spin over good. Thanks

Test battery with load tester or the starter disable the ignition remove HEI connector should maintain 9.6volts in 10secs and double check the connections-to include a check on the ignition control module their known on HEI ignition
