REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1.Remove the sound insulator panel.
2.Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the blower motor (1).
3.Remove the screws from the blower motor (1).
4.Remove the blower motor (1) from the HVAC module (3).
5.Remove the retainer from the blower motor impeller. Discard the retainer.
6.Remove the blower motor impeller from the blower motor (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
1.Install the blower motor impeller to the blower motor (1).
2.Install the new retainer to the blower motor impeller.
3.Install the blower motor (1) to the HVAC module (3). NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4.Install the screws to the blower motor (1). Tighten Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in) .

5.Connect the electrical connector (2) to the blower motor (1).
6.Install the sound insulator panel

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. If equipped, remove the sound insulator panel.
2. Remove the blower motor insulating cover screws.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
4. Remove the blower motor insulating cover.

5. Pull the retaining tab down while turning the blower motor counter-clockwise in order to disengage the blower motor from the heater/ventilation module.

6. Remove the blower motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the blower motor.

2. Install the blower motor to the heater/ventilation module. Turn the blower assembly clockwise until the retaining tab locks into place.
3. Install the blower motor insulating cover.

4. Connect the electrical connector to the blower motor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the blower motor insulating cover screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in) .

6. If equipped, install the sound insulator panel.

Blower Motor and Fan Replacement
Removal Procedure

Remove the blower motor insulating cover screws.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
Remove the blower motor insulating cover.

Pull the retaining tab down while turning the blower motor counter-clockwise in order to disengage the blower motor from the heater/ventilation module.

Remove the blower motor.
Installation Procedure

Install the blower motor.

Install the blower motor to the heater/ventilation module. Turn the blower assembly clockwise until the retaining tab locks into place.
Install the blower motor insulating cover.

Connect the electrical connector to the blower motor.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Install the blower motor insulating cover screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 NÂ m(14 lb in).

Remove or Disconnect

Negative battery cable.
Instrument panel compartment.
Front screw from right door sill plate.
Right hinge pillar trim panel.
Electrical connectors from PCM, as necessary.
PCM and mounting bracket (diesel engines only).
Electrical connectors from blower motor (60), as necessary.
Bolt from right lower I/P support.
Blower motor cover.
Blower motor cooling tube.
Blower motor flange screws (59).
Blower motor (60).
Pull the blower motor forward carefully to avoid distorting the blower fan.
May be necessary to pry back right side of instrument panel.

I'm trying to replace the blower motor for the heat and air in my truck. None of the part stores carry a blower motor with two terminals and that's what this truck has. How do I find out what type of blower motor to put in?
