my transmission made a loud pop while i was driving and now will not go into reverse. the fluid was a little low but not out and there is no fluid in the driveway. i dont put many miles on the truck 5000 since june 08. could this be a minor problem or am i looking at major $

you never know how much its going to cost but if it is not going in to rev. i think you might have to get a rebuild done

It sounds like the reaction shell broke in the tranny. You will be looking at an overhaul to repair it. Rough estimate would be 1500.00 to 2000.00
