Vehicle speed sensor located on left side trans. When it goes no speedo, tach and auto shift. It also sounds like the cluster is out here is a video on how to fix it on a similar car.

If each of these items are not working then we need to start with inspecting the cluster for wiring issues and if none are found then I suspect the cluster is the issue. Each of these items has a different input for the cluster to display them and if they are all incorrect then the common denominator is the cluster.

As for the truck starting in second gear, what makes you think this is happening? If the truck were in gear, it would most likely no start but if you mean when you put the truck in drive, it starts out in second gear then we have a valve body issue most likely. Let me know if I am misunderstanding something.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the sender on that is a single wire at the driver's side front of engine down by the exhaust manifold. It can get heat damaged and the connector can get an intermittent or, as in your case, a dead open condition. Make sure you replacced the correct sender/connector. To test it put the wire to ground and the gaufe should peg out.

Check all the fuses to make sure none are blown. Then check the electrical grounds make sure they're clean and connected to the vehicle's body.

There should be one or two circuit breakers in the fuse block. These control the power windows and locks. Check that you're getting power to the circuit breaker with the key on.
Check for power coming into the fuse block and that the connections are tight. I'm focusing on this fuse block as this is a common point or reason to why all the accessories & lights are not working.

Does the engine start and run?
